Dear Parents
The term continues to progress well with everyone relieved that our Covid numbers are decreasing significantly.  However, we still have to remain vigilant, especially in schools where a number of the current cases are occurring.  We will continue to observe all our protocols to protect pupils, teachers, staff and parents.

Upgrading of water system
At present we have no water in the school when there is no ZESA and the generator is not running.  We did have a reserve tank above the infants’ toilets, which unfortunately ruptured   damaging the ceiling beyond repair. A new ceiling has now been installed.

As backup water for the ablutions is essential, we will be installing two new reserve tanks in the ceilings, with drip and overflow trays for safety.  One tank will service the infant’s ablutions and the other will service the Grade 6 and 7 ablutions.  Both will gravity feed the ablutions when there is no electricity.  The Grade 3 and 4 ablutions have their own reserve tanks already installed.

The installation, scheduled for 22nd October, will require all water in the school to be turned off for several hours while the contractors and plumber undertake the works. As a result, school will be closed on Friday 22nd October to facilitate this.  As our Exam Week will be a week later, from 1st to 5th November, Friday 22nd October will be used as a revision day.

Parents understanding of the situation is greatly appreciated.
