Dear Parents

Our term is progressing very smoothly.  We are endeavouring to assist pupils who may have not been able to keep up during lockdowns.  Grade 1 and 2 pupils who require extra help with their reading are being given assistance after school ends for them.  Our thanks go to the Grade 1 and 2 teachers who are facilitating this.

During the lockdown, pupils’ access to the Internet and social media increased significantly.  Parents are reminded to monitor content viewed on the Internet as well as communications on social media by their children.  Our first assemblies dealt with this from the school’s perspective.  However, this needs to be followed up and reinforced at home.  Parents are reminded that if Bishopslea pupils are on any chat groups a parent is required to be on the chat group to monitor the content and communications. The importance of this with regards monitoring messages that are sent to upset or intimidate other children cannot be over emphasised.
